Full Price to Bargain Bin Price, how long does it take to happend?

I still prefer my games on disc and I only buy digital if it is the only way to get the game (or in a very rare case, I'm too busy to go out and buy it from the store).

With that being said, how long does it typically take a game to go from Full Price to Bargain Bin Price?

It won't take long to just wait it out and get all these games in the bargain bin. Check stores like Kmart for clearance prices.

 

It varies Game to Game but a typical range would be around 2 to 3 years (or more).

Keep in mind though, some Games never go down in price even long after the Publication stops and even the Platform they are on disappears.

Not sure where Lost Kauz is shoppoing but when it comes to XBox ONE it can be a matter of weeks.

"Fallout 4" is a title who's price dropped like a stone a week or 2 after release to less than half the digital price.

"Rainbow Six: Siege" is another. In fact apart from "Call Of Duty" and a small handful of others the Disc Version of most "New Release" games drops sharply quickly.

That's fact. Speculation as to why may be because the games are over-valued to begin with. We have digital games selling for what Nintendo 64 Cartidges used to sell for back in the day.

Another speculation is that Microsoft want us to stop seeing value in the discs. Most people who like a disc version like to "own it". If they ever decide they've had their fill they can sell it... and if a really expensive game you got on release and
played it until you only had your fill is only gonna net you 10 - 20 bucks... why not buy Digital and not have the fuss of loading a disc and being able to simply say "XBox Play (Insert Game Here).

They want us to buy digital. It makes us spend more.

The plus side is while we're in the process of Microsoft and other Publishers trying to condition us to buy digital you'll be able to pick up some great disc based bargains mere weeks after release.

 

I often wait until GOTY editions release on physical media B4 buying.

This gen, their isnt much of that happening so whats the value in a goty disc but then having to dl all the extras from MSMP? Which is a 1 time use.

Doesn't seem 2B much of a value anymore!
