I just turned off windows firewall completely and now the download starts... very strange, because I haven't ever changed my firewall settings.

    Flight Simulator Error at Launch

Well, I was finally able to complete the installation of FS2020 but it wasn't because of the suggested steps from Microsoft above, as they made no difference. Apparently the issue I was having (Please wait during the update process) has something to do
with the downloads. I don't recall where I found the suggestion (I thought it was here but can't find it) but in my case the following resolved the problem with the "Please wait..." issue.

    • Start FS2020 and when the Update option comes up try doing the update
    • Instead of any downloads I would immediately get a "Please wait..." message above the progress bar and no progress would be made
    • Shutdown FS2020 (Assuming it hasn't already crashed)
    • Open File Explorer on my Windows 10 system and went to:
      • C:\Users\bill\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Official\OneStore
      • Replace bill above with your username
    • Sort the files in Date Modified order
    • Delete the most recent file in this directory
    • Restart FS2020 and select the Update option again
    • This time you shouldn't see the "Please wait..." message and things should start downloading again
    • In my case I had to go through this process 10 times before it finally finished the remaining 59GB of the download
Once I completed the above process I was now able to start and run FS2020. At this point everything is working as expected however it will still periodically freeze and crash. Not sure what's causing this issue. FYI here is my setup:

    • Surface Studio 2
      • Intel Core i7-7820HQ CPU @ 2.90GHz
      • 32GB of RAM
      • 8GB Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070
      • Windows 10 Version 2004 (OS Build 19041.450)
    • Logitech Extreme 3D Pro Joystick
    • Xfinity Extreme Pro Internet Package

Hopefully the above will help one of you out as well. Good luck!

    New hardware

    Hello there!

I have installed al of the 10 dvds abd when i put in dvd nr one snd start fs2020 I have to put in the Registration nr and but then uts written ”it id already used” (something like that. its not on the dvd:s. Last time I reinstall Windows 10 I had to start Windows store and start Fs2020 from there becouse the Registration nr is stored in the store someway where its says I own FS2020 i library. But when I change my hardwear and update Windows to 11 I dont own the FS2020 in library and can nit use the dvd for the installation, becouse after the installing i have to write the Registration number.

So the dvd:s work for the installing but i cant start the fs2020.

    Regards Jerker

Microsoft Flight Simulator stuck on Please Wait...

    https://steamah.com/microsoft-flight-simulator-fix-for-stuck-on-please-wait-3-68gib-remaining/

For me this worked, it was pretty much because the launcher wasn't able to decompress some files correctly. navigate
your way to your roaming file (%appdata%), find your way to Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages\Official\Steam, delete all files that are not folders (for me I had like 6 packages at the bottom of my listing that were files not folders), then rerun the launcher
and it should correctly install them.

    Hope this helps! Good luck
