Frustrating lag-like issue which I don't think is actually lag

Hi,

I need help – I have been having issues while gaming on my xbox. At first I thought it was normal lag, but I have tried various different fixes suggested from Activision (the only games I really play are Black Ops 3 and now Infinite Warfare) but nothing
has worked.

The issue happens regularly, and causes the game to skip in a lag-like fashion. It got to the point where I began running a speed check whenever it happens (it has become more and more frequent), and my internet seems to hold strong at about 16-17mb down
and 1.5mb up, with ping between 0-40ms – more than adequate to run an online shooter.

Because it has happened on 2 different games I know it’s not the game itself. And the fact that my internet is running fine suggests its not that (I’ve also tried hard reset on my router multiple times). Another thing that rules out the possibility of it
being my internet is that is happens in the pre-game lobby sometimes as well. (I have videos of this happening in-game and in-lobby.)

So this leads me to believe it’s something to do with my xbox. Has anyone else experienced similar issues and found a fix? Is there anything I can try?

I don't understand all you "lag comp" people. I get some lag every now and then but I've never had a serious issue. Check your internet.

I don't think I'd like to accept that lag is just part of the game haha. But yes I've also had a lot of lag.

COD IW news states that it is known there seems to be a FPS stutter and they are working on a fix, as to BO3 maybe coincidence.

Are you running on Cable or WIFI

A good way to spot lag is using BF4 and see if you rubber band, if you do its your connection (local). Using speed tests are unreliable to check if your local network has a problem in reliability.

 

this lag is due to the updating of September the console, is not the fault of the game, I have 3 games with this problem, and before that update (September 23) were fine !!! almost two months that I and many others are waiting for a correction, it is shameful!
