Frustrated with xbox updates

This is just a rant,

Anyone else is frustrated with XBox One updates and game updates? My system spends more time updating and today with limited band width this can take forever. Then to add insult to injury after updating 4+GB updates for Xbox One, then when you try to play
a game it needs a 30+ GB update, and that is not the only one!!! If this is the new trend for gaming Microsoft may start loosing customers.

Anyone else having a problem with the new update

Since the last update, my xbox has been freezing and crashing. I'm very frustrated.

 

It's been a "new trend" for gaming for the past 3 years.

My console is in "instant on" mode so downloads updates when my console is not being used.

Might be worth you doing the same if your broadband isn't that great.

 

If you don't set your console to "instant on" mode, then you will always get updates as and when you next turn your console on, its been like this since...........well since the console launched three years ago.

If your not happy with that and you don't want to put your console into "instant on" mode, then perhaps console gaming isn't for you, perhaps you may want to take up a different hobby, because both the PS4 and PC gaming has similar situations.

 

its the 21st century and technology is so unreliable we need numerous regular updates from everything. especuall windows 10 and sometimes those updates stuff up your settings and programs you run on your computerm after one update hauppauge capture kept
crashing but hauppauge rolled out an update which fixed microsofts mess. after another update it had changed my sound settings and privacy settings to allow it to record my typing patterns. it was for sure set to off but after the update it set itself to on.
its even annouing when you have to restart you pc after the update more time wasted. especially when your average 1tb hdd laptop takes 3 minutes to boot and have loaded everything. luckily my high end desktop takes only 5 seconds to boot. it feels like were
being spammed with updates and in certain countries spam and unsolicited mail is illegal.

 

Not had an issue with updates.

 

Many people have had their parents tell them not to leave your electrical things on when not in use. Mine do. I mean not many people leave their Xbox's on 24/7/365 set on Instant Mode. Updates can come out at ANY time. Me and my NZ and Australian friends
have a hissy with the past 10 updates for Minecraft Xbox 360 which always come out between 6pm-10pm NZ time. We've had school and work and we get spammed with this update. EXCUSE ME (WAVES ARMS IN THE AIR) EXCUSE ME, I WANT AN UPDATE, I WANT TO UPDATE, I'LL
JUST TELL THE SERVERS TO DOWNLOAD AT 1kb/s as Microsoft sits back and has a lol at us. Why does Microsoft release updates for Minecraft between 6-11PM NZ time which annoys Australians and NZ players and during that time it's like 2AM at Microsoft Headquarters
in Redmond. One of my NZ friends got so pee'd off she threw a pillow at her console ^u^ "stupid update". I think one of her friends also filed a complaint to Microsoft about it.

 

Erm.... You may want to change your message the bit that says "I mean not many people leave their Xbox's on 24/7/365 set on Instant Mode" My Xbox 1 has been set to "instant on" mode since launch and that was 3 years ago.

And regarding the game updates, what do you want Microsoft to do stagger the updates to regions? you do realise that people can play with anyone in the world don't you? here is a possibility

Player A is in the UK playing Minecraft

Player B is in New Zealand playing on the same server as player A

Player A gets an update but Player B doesn't.

Player A updates and goes back to playing, but player B cant join the server because his game is "has not been updated.

See the problem?

 

Woe dude, you leave your Xbox on for 3 solid years?? That ain't normal lol. And I'm with smileskybird on this one. What is Microsoft doing releasing updates at 12 - 2 a.m. their time (US time). One of my friends got fed up having to update during the evening.
Her Xbox 360 kicked her offline, hello update, disconnected from Xbox Live, our party, and then the servers take forever to get the job done in downloading. And me and my friends have high speed internet and live in a major city. And yes. We know you can't
join other people's games without having up to date content. But when I play with my friends, sometimes we have to go to the dashboard then launch the game again, or restart our console then launch the game, for the dashboard to bring up an update needed message.
It's downright annoying having updates. Microsoft should release updates during business hours their time, not at 12 - 2 a.m. in the morning their time when it's around 9 p.m. NZ and 7 p.m. Australian time. This is kind of a rant thread, and updating at inconvenient
time when your playing with friends and get interrupted by an update, or using up power (no matter how little) by leaving on your Xbox "24/7/365" isn't my thing too. My parents taught me to turn off my devices before going to sleep (minus phone). Well that's
how I was raised. And when you're playing a game and an update just gets released, Instant Mode is useless because you have to pause the game to update it (since you are playing as soon as a new update releases). And that has happened with Minecraft Xbox 360
for like the past 6 Minecraft updates they did. They've dished them out in the evenings for NZ and Australians and we get interrupted with our fun all because of an update. I don't see other game developers releasing game updates around or after midnight.
grrrr. I understand your frustration WASR 30. Microsoft must be high releasing updates in the dead of night for them
