    Frustrated with Xbox Cloud Gaming — Why Can Only One Player Play at a Time (TV or PC)?


    Hoping someone here can help me understand this better — or at least confirm my experience.

    We just subscribed to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, excited to play couch co-op games together on our Samsung TV through the Xbox app. We bought two Bluetooth controllers, connected them both to the TV, picked out some co-op-friendly Game Pass games… and then hit a wall.

    Only one controller works — no matter what we try, Xbox Cloud Gaming on the TV only allows one player at a time. Even when I tried launching one game from the PC and another from the TV using the same Game Pass Ultimate account, it just kicked the first person off.

    I’ve looked around, but haven’t been able to find any official documentation clearly saying:

    • That Cloud Gaming on smart TVs is single-player only
    • That you can’t have more than one session running at a time from a single Game Pass account (TV + PC)

    If this is true, it feels like really important information that should be upfront before someone buys into the ecosystem thinking they can play locally with another person.

    So now we have:

    • A monthly Game Pass subscription
    • Two controllers
    • Only one person able to play at a time

    Is my frustration valid here? Im a single mom (not a gamer in any capacity) just trying to find a user friendly experience and quickly became a user wanting to boycott the entire platform

    Is there any official info that explains these limitations clearly?
    And is Microsoft planning to support local multiplayer through the Xbox TV app at any point?

    Would appreciate any help or insight from people who’ve figured out workarounds — or hit the same wall.

    Does anyone know of compatible Smart TV's that can run the XBOX app for REMOTE play?

    There isn't one. Only Samsung TV's at the moment do Xbox Cloud gaming, but none that can play games remotely.

    lately i been thinking about pc a lot, been asking myself a lot of question, one of them is why Microsoft didn't allow PC players to download like kidda software allows you to play xbox games on pc, you don't need xbox to play xbox games, like all on pc!
    that's will bring a lot of old school gamers !

    like sign into your gamertag and the games u have on you account can be playable!

    is it a wonderfu idea ?
    I was thinking what about if Microsoft relased XBOX gaming cloud ? so we can play GAMES ONE GAME ( clouding services ) on pc ?

    If it is on pc you have to sign in on the purchasing account on the xbox store to install

    But cloud play it can only be on the subscriber account and they can only be signed in on one place at a time

    You ca. Download and share games via pc with your method but you can't share cloud as that a subscriber option only

    Only one profile.can roam and that's the subscriber

    You can download and play gamepass games locally for pc but not Xbox without the cloud

    They have to sign in on the Xbox app and download the said games

    And then they HAVE TO sign in in their own profile on the Xbox app afterwards to play

    You can only be signed in on one device at a time

    Gameshare is only a console feature

    Hi,

    I take it with your referrals to Nox Player and BlueStacks, you are trying to use Xbox cloud streaming on your PC/Laptop, correct?

    To anyone else reading this, Nox Player and BlueStacks are Android emulators. Android emulation is the only way to play Xbox Cloud games on a PC at the moment until Microsoft launches an official PC client.

    I have no personal experience with Nox Player, but I have used Bluestacks and I have successfully connected to the the Xbox Cloud gaming service with BlueStacks.

    Can you tell us what the make and model of your PC is please?
