From game to live tv, system freezes and then reboots.

Hi all,

Seems since a recent update, aa few weeks ago, I'll get a freeze and reboot.

First few times I figured it was a fluke but now I'm noticing the pattern described in three thread title. Anyone else experience this?

One Guide

Hi all. Anybody had black screens from sky at any point? Few times recently I've booted system up and gone to tv and it doesn't display any image, takes a few reboots for it to set back or freeze. Done a hard reset so will see if it clears up.

One You Hate, One You Love

Love - being able to jump from a game to watch TV or an app, then back to the exact spot I was at in the game with loading times, etc...

.

Hate - That "dashboarding" bug... I've not had any games freeze on me yet, so I'm guessing when a game would normally freeze it now dashboards instead... better than having to reboot the console, but still ultra annoying.

Sorry to hear about the freezing issue. I recommend trying a few troubleshooting steps to see if we can get this issue sorted.

Please give the following steps a try:

Press and hold the power button on your Xbox One console for 10 seconds.

Once your console is powered off, unplug the power cord and HDMI cord.

Wait 5 minutes and then plug in your console and HDMI cord.

Power on your console and try to see if you experience the issue.

Give the suggested steps a try and let us know if the issue continues to occur.

I too am having this issue and it started about 3-4 weeks ago. It's not just when going from game to live tv, it seems to be happening when switching over to the NFL app also. I think the common thread is streaming video. I work in IT and recognize cookie
cutter responses from support when I see them.

I am having same issue. After playing a game a couple hours then switching to live tv it will freeze for about 20 to 30 seconds and you hear the television audio makes a noise then it reboots system and takes a while at that.

I am having this issue again too. It happened to me a few weeks ago and a hard reboot of both the cable box and XB1 solved the problem. Now that solution is not working at all. If I unplug the HDMI in everything works normally. But if the HMDI from the
cable box is plugged in the entire system is slow to respond and freezes. Not just when watching TV but any application from games to the system settings. I can play a game and with the HDMI plugged in it freezes, unplug the cable and it snaps right back
into action. plug the cable back in and instantly freezes again. This is very frustrating.

Ok so after messing with a few different variations it looks like it is definitely a software issue. Hopefully MS can get this worked out quickly.

Xbox in Energy Saving mode which powers it down completely. Reboot = TV works.

Unplug the power from the back of the box. Reboot = TV works

Stand By Mode. Reboot= Freezing happens
