From Disk to Digital

I currently have Rainbow Six Siege installed on my Xbox One via disk. If I were to buy a digital copy, would I be able to keep all of my purchased content and progress on the digital copy of the game? Thanks!

unfortunately the disc has the Key on so wont work

No there's no way. What I've done is to wait for the game to go on sale digitally and purchase it, and then sell my physical disc on ebay, or Gumtree/Craiglist.

It is a shame that Microsoft cant store the license from disc to say you own it and then you don't need disc all the time . If it's a case of not wanting you to share it surely they could be able tell if it has been used . 👍

Hi there,

When installing a disc, it registers its license with your console, hence you need to insert it whenever you use it. There is no way to circumvent this, unless you buy the digital version of the game.

If you have already installed the game from disc, and had decided to purchase it digitally, the game will run without the disc, in its digital format.
