friends vs followers

couldn't really find a good spot to post this so i'll ask here. what is the difference between friends and followers?

Yeah the 360 is limited to 100 friends and the site I believe is still capped there too, though I may be wrong. I hope they update it soon to reflect the additional capacity. Either way, so long as you got me and I got you on the X1, all is cool

Hi cloud I accepted your friends request on Xbox 1 but it's not showing up on my Xbox 360 friend list (now sitting @ 99/100) nor on Xbox.com. Only on my Xbox 1 console. You probably cant read my bio online status or friends list because of this as I keep
that for Friends Only. It's kind of like a mathematical equation how your friends list works if you own a 360 and 1. My friends list on both 360 and 1 load fine. You cant view followers or know if you have any on xbox.com and Xbox 360 until you log onto Xbox
1 console or Xbox 1 smartglass. I wished that make it *standardised* across all of Xbox Live.

 

Followers have added you as a friend. Once you add them back as a friend, then they are a friend instead of a follower. Followers can follow your activity on the Xbox. Just like Twitter has followers for people's accounts.

 

then why are friends that i have on my 360 under followers? do i also need to send them request on the xbox one?

 

Not sure about that. All of my 360 friends are listed as friends and not followers... Maybe see if you can send them a request.

 

I think friend are auto followers. Because I have 111 friends and 103 followers at post time. I haved like 11 XB1 only friends on my friend list. 100 friends can be view on my XB360.

 

i"ll try sending my 360 friends invites on the xbox one later on and see what happens.

 

well i decided to check and just realized that my 360 friends are in both my friends and followers categories. does this mean my followers section is messed up? i have 990 friends and 179 followers. 90 some of them are in both.

 

I have this exact same question.

 

the new update is cool where i can see how long i've been friends with people now....

 

just look at them under followers. my longest friend is 8 years if i remember correctly. and shortest is 16 hrs ago.
