Friends tell me my mic makes noises, and i dont hear the noises/static while using the windows ...

With some headsets, this issue happens when controllers are plugged in and charging - it's essentially broadcasting the microphone even when you're not talking, so others can hear this background noise constantly (and explains why you cannot).

Try a few things to see if we can confirm the case:

If you mute the microphone, do your friends still hear the buzzing?

If you try a different headset, does it persist?

If you take out the batteries (powered by USB cable), can they still hear it?

I have been experiencing the same exact problem, I can use my mic no problem on Discord but once I join a party on the Windows 10 Xbox app all my friends hear is a loud static noise from me. No solution yet.... ridiculous.

Wow my post 2 years after the last post but anyway: My friends keep telling me that my mic keeps making weird noises and sometimes they can't hear me... I am going to my a new talkback cable cause i think that's the problem, hopefully it works

One more thing, when recording videos with my microphone on, there's a static noise in the background, but when talking to my friends through the same mic it's clear. Can this problem have anything to do with the input lag. And this is just a small detail, no need to start helping with the static noise, just a detail, or maybe a clue.
