Friends showing multiple times

As the title says i have been getting this on Xbox app quite a lot lately



Then sometimes my friends list does not show at all.

Friends list not showing up on Xbox One

Hi, My friends list has not been showing up for the past three days. The error reads can not display friends list right now. I have tried rebooting the system multiple times.

I can't see any of my friend in the game either (Destiny). Any suggestions on how to resolve this?

 

Days instead of hours?

Its possible that it is just showing the time played for multiple days. Are you checking the time played everyday?

You can also manually update the Xbox app by uninstalling and reinstalling it. Here's how:

4. Hit Enter.

Unfortunately it is still happening after i uninstalled and reinstalled the app.

 

Thank you for your response. To further assist you with your concern, we recommend that you check the current version of the Xbox app installed on your computer.

1. Open Xbox app, and then select Settings.
2. Under General tab, go to About.

The current version of the Xbox app is 8.8.15003.00000.

You can also reset Windows Store and update the Xbox app again to ensure that the latest version is installed on your computer.

To reset Windows Store:

1. Press Windows key + X on your keyboard. 
2. Click on Command prompt (Admin). 
3. Type wsreset.exe, and then hit Enter. 

Reset your apps to normal mode by following the steps below:

1. Press Windows + R on the keyboard.
2. Type msconfig, and then click OK.
3. On the General tab, click the Normal Startup, and then click OK.
4. When you are prompted to restart the computer, click Restart.

i have done the above but i always have the same version

my other profile has only one friend, it's my billy no mates profile lol.

yes i can see my friends list on xbox.com when i click on my friends link

i cannot remember when it started at first i thought it was just a glitch so ignored it until it got worse...

my laptop is always up to date with updates automatically installed + i always check for updates 3 times or so a week just in case.

i give up, nothing works even running troubleshooter cannot reset store and cache. have tried all 3 solutions and nothing fixes it! this laptop is only 4 months old and came with windows 10 preinstalled... cannot find anything when searching the net with
the version of xbox app that i get 29.29.24001.00000. surely someone at MS knows about this?

i have retried redownloading the app and now my version is 29.29.31001.00000
