Friends respond to message sent. Cant read reply white box

Chatted up with an old xbox friend on my One. Now all of his replies are in a white box with no txt in it. So basically I can no tread his messages now. Just empty white boxxes. I can go on Pc to see messages so I know hes replying back to me. Please help.
New Xbox One.

I can't send messages

I cannot send messages to my friends on xbox.com or any of my microsoft games. I've received a message on my microsoft bingo game that I cannot reply to. Even receiving one from my daughter, I can read it but not respond. It says "Due to past behavior, you
cannot send messages. Try again later."

How is that possible? I just made this account last month! And that was the very first time I sent a message!

Please help!

My friend can't read my PMs

For some reason my friend can't read my PMs. I don't even get the "message can't be sent" message either. He just doesn't respond. I know he's not ignoring me or has blocked me. He sent me a message one day and i replied to him back yet he couldn't see my
messages. He couldn't have blocked me or i would have been removed from his friends list.
