Friends online notifications for xbox one

It seems that on xbox one the notifications for xbox 360 friends coming online don't work.

I only get notifications for friends who are connecting through an xbox one but not for my xbox 360 friends. I have my preferences set to all.

is this normal?

I'd be interested to know how this works actually. Does it only work for favourites? I can understand why they turned it off by default for friends now you can have 1000 (you'd have a notification every five seconds), but I don't remember seeing one at all now.

They've removed that feature I believe. Does seem a bit silly, but I guess it's due to the increase in the number of friends. As @Munkey Boy said, ideally you could set X amount of favourites and have notifications for just those.

Seems to be quite a lot of people unhappy with them taking this out, so hopefully they'll put it back in at a later date

 

Why do your friends want to watch TV with you? they have games on the 360/drumroll please

 

Seeing as there is no cross-platform support, it would only make sense they don't notify you of people coming online that can't be played with. When Playing Titanfall on the X1 I know "I" don't want to be interrupted by notifications of friends coming online
with the 360.

I only have 8 people on my "favorites" list, and only four of them have a X1...you can imagine I don't get notified very often. Lol.

You have little to no idea really do you? I have not ONCE used my Xbox One for watching TV, and I never will.

I use it as a gaming machine... 45hrs logged on Titanfall so far and loving it.

You and the others like you who come here to derail threads, and mock other gamers choices over some mythological d@#% measuring contest are a disgrace to gamers everywhere.

 

I am on the preview just wondering what you think of the popup, is it too big, stays on too long?.

Mine does the same and understand what you guys are saying but I would really like it to tell me when my 360 friends are online as I do go back and forth between both consoles and it's annoying checking ya friends list to see who is online on the 360 and
if they do add the feature add a setting to turn it off so people currently happy with it only showing xbox one users can have it that way as well

 

It is normal I want xbox one to fix the party options we should be able to talk to xbox 360 friends and xbox one friends at the same time also it does not show how many friends I have online still a little more tweaks Microsoft has to make in order for it
to get better
