Friends list / Settings not working 'Error'

Ok, so after a quick search I see that it is apparently not just me having issues.... glad to know....

the only problem is that my errors seem to go deeper than the 'Change the console Name' solution that worked for other people. My problem started happening early this morning. I tried joining my friends game and it gave me an error so I figured I would
just try and restart my xbox. Well after restarting my xbox now I can no longer view my friends list. It either shows everyone Offline or gives me an Error. If I try sending them an invite to my party it gives me an Error. I figured the next step would
be to go to Settings via my xbox... However, my Settings application on my Xbox One never loads.... It sits there for minutes and then gives me an error. I'm not sure if this an error with xbox live or the xbox itself but this is ridiculous. I am already
on my second xbox one in two months because my first xbox had disc drive failure, and now this..... I have been a long time xbox fan but I am about done

Edit: Forgot to mention that it allows me to connect online in game. Like I can join Crucible matches in Destiny. So it is definitely NOT a problem with my games.

Friends list not working

There is a service alert going on right now with the xbox live:

Be patient until this issue is solved.

 

Friend list not working

We certainly want to get this taken care of, please follow the instructions on how to successfully power cycle your Xbox One console:

1. Hold the power button down on the front of the console for ten seconds.

2. Once the ten seconds pass you can power the system back up and you should be able to access your Friends List once again.

i am currently not able to see my friends list at all so i am trying to play minecraft with a friend but because of this it wont let me any solutions? keeps happening

 

Same^ Not able to see friends list or view my profile. What's going on? It says up and running on the Server Status, but obviously that is not true.

 

This problem happens 5-6 times a week. It's ridiculous that Microsoft has never ONCE issued a statement regarding what causes it.

 

Just talked to tech support and he said its an issue thats happening and was annoyed because he's been getting these calls all day........already was on the forums and wasn't able find out why this is happening.

 

I also restarted my router, changed my nat type, held the xbox button down for 8 seconds...and i still cant see my friends. Just says "We can't show your friends right now"

 

This is getting really old. Go back to the old party chat it was faster and easier to use. I can't quickly get a party going without dying several times

 

It's happening to me as well I tried everything 10/12/14 at 6:50pm

 

We pay for this system to never work. Today is especially bad.

No sympathy.

Support number is 1-800-469-9269. It was impossible for me to find in support, and calling is no help anyways. But it is something to do while we can't utilize the service we pay for.

 

How has no one been fired over this trash? This happens way to often (at least a couple or more times a month) and yet there is never anything that gets done about it. Also... why the heck does my xbox constantly change the NAT type? What the heck were they
thinking when they made this thing. /rant.

 

I think this is kinda B.S the whole reason why some people went to Microsoft is, that play station was always down for maintenance and couldn't do anything .it was free online so who cares .but when I have spent money on a year of online or my friends that
spent on 3 months and we can't even play or anything once or twice a week now in last two months because the friends list been down an taking 5-30 min or more trying to fix,restart, or wait it out jus to game .id like to be re embersed or compensated for the
complications cause like I said this not first time been having problems non stop !!!!

 

Same issue, as has the bods on my friends list. @Microsoft I am expecting an extension to my Live sub as has been down for 3 days for me.
