Friends list reads 0….sometimes one or two friends but it changes

Many gamers have reported not being able to see their friends list across multiple Xbox platforms such as PC, Console, Mobile Xbox app, and Xbox's website. However, If you press the Xbox button and go to Profile & System > press "A" on your profile > "My profile", your friends count should still display the exact number of friends you have, this means that your friends were not deleted from your list, they are just not displaying correctly at the moment. These are some things you could try to get your friends to display again:

• Power Cycle

- Press and hold the Xbox button on your console for 10 seconds, until it shuts down.

- Unplug the power cord from your console for 3 minutes (If you have the original Xbox One, unplug the power supply from both the Xbox and the outlet).

- Plug everything back together and turn your console on.

• Check for pending Xbox system updates.

- You can do this at Settings > System > Updates.

• DNS settings

- Go to Settings > General > Network settings > Advanced settings > DNS settings > Manual > and set the Primary DNS to 8.8.8.8 and the secondary DNS to 8.8.4.4.

- Restart your console.

• Try connecting your console to a different network.

I have an Xbox series X. This occurred around 3am CDT aug 10, I noticed it at that point. I am not currently experiencing any other issues with Xbox social features.

I’ll also add that this happened when I was attempting to send a recorded clip to someone on my friends list. When I selected to send to share it, typically it will pull up my friends list or previous chats(I did not have a pre-existing chat as this friends is new). It did not show anyone or any previous chats

While trying to return to GTA online I accidentally selected a different game (a bit of input lag with the guide it would seem). As quickly as I could, so I would not lose my current position in GTA, I re-selected GTA and it has to re-open the game. When returned to the friends list to invite said friend from before, I noticed that my friends list was empty.
