Friends, Followers, and just plain fun with the Ritual stone

Ever wish you could beat a Boss with a bit more action? Get the Ritual stone. Sure you could go for experience increases that the other stones offer, but then you don't have an army behind you.

I forget when I thought of this, but I was in a large area underground and was killing Draugr left and right and decided to revive one with the power. It didn't just revive one, it revived any dead Draugr in the room, and where ever else the power could
reach, and they all fought for me. It was funny when I sprinted in to a room and hid and the boss was looking for me and suddenly 5 or more Draugr run in and start beating the snot out of the boss.

Another time I was about to go in to a cavern and ran in to a magic caster and killed him. I thought, hey I could use one of those so I used the Ritual Stone and turned to head to the mine and noticed something else in the ground also blue. So I took a few
steps backwards and to my surprise it was a very tiny mudcrab. So wizard, the mudcrab, and I went in to the cavern. I didn't see what happen to the poor little crab after entering. One thing to note, when moving from one area to another quickly step away
from the door so your zombie army can follow you. Another funny story; while walking to Solitude from the owned house near by, there's an area where action will always be found. I was getting beat down by a fire mage and an archer. Thankfully I had a cache
of bodies, I had forgotten about, in the area and used the Ritual Stone in hopes that there were bodies around. There was, and I survived. And I had to laugh, I found a dead horse, the stone didn't work (But it works on the mammoths and the giants, nothing
like having two mammoths and a giant following you outdoors) so I started to walk off but then stopped when I heard a groaning, turned around it saw a mage standing in the wagon behind the dead horse. LOL. And, it will not raise dragons, sigh. But again,
if you have the bodies, it sure is fun to watch zombies pound on a dragon particularly if they are archers or mages with the skills.

What my process is this; rest for 24 hours. Activate the power to raise any dead.

Wander through the area until you hear everybody drop. If you like your army, rest 24 hours again and raise again.

Repeat.

One thing to note, sometimes they do not follow very well. In caverns they tend to get strung out in a very large line and their path logic isn't very intelligent. You will sometimes find a zombie staring at the wall and if you check your map you will find
that the beast is looking the direction where you were when it got lost.

Decisions decisions

I'd pick summon Atronachs. They're so helpful in battle. Especially against dragons. They can take the dragon's attention for a bit letting you lay some damage on the beast. Distractions are almost necessary in order to kill dragons early on. There is a
stone you can take the blessing from called the Ritual Stone. This lets you raise the dead to fight for you. So what I would do is pick to summon Atronachs and go find and take the blessing from the Ritual Stone.

 

My first date with Lydia...

followers are annoying, I left Lydia in the kitchen and killed her later on a quest where I was to lure someone to a stone and kill them, but Lydia wouldn't tough the stone, so I just killed her anyways.

 

The ritual stone is my go-to endgame stone. [got a lvl 999 nord, a lvl 130 breton, and 3 other level 81s.l its great just the way you describe it, just go in a draugr tomb and kill em all then activate the stone. its great on my necromancer for obvious reasons.
it can also be used as a type of boosting for certain a.o.e. spells like the fire and paralyze ones. I believe it can be used in conjunction with the dead thrall spell so you dont have to worry about putting them on a timer like the rest of them.

Oh and horses cant be revived at all, but you can revive giants, and with the right perks even werewolves. another random spell that can work really well on a necromancer build is "detect dead" i think its illusion myb, but it shows all nearby bodies through
walls etc wether or not if you killed them or if they were already there [it also shows draugr and bonemen before they fully spawn.] Havent tested if this extends soul tear but i know soul tear cancels out 1 of your dead thralls so myb not.

my favorite use of this is in riften, since i killed everyone in skyrim the guards in riften glitch out and spawn en masse in groups of 40+ so i like to kill half of them then revive them and watch the ensuing 20 on 20 brawl.
