    Friends codes didn't work


    Yes, hi, I just bought Gears Of War 4 and it had a bunch of codes inside. It consisted of the last 4 games of the series, and I already owned these, so I wanted to give them to my friend. My friend recieved the codes and redeemed them successfully, but they
    are not showing up in his my games and apps, or ready to install tabs. And he cannot reenter them, so I would like my friend to get some help with this issue, thank you.

    Got gears of war 4 ultimate edition as I wanted the codes ASAP to play the originals with my friends.

    Didn't realize how long it would take to get the codes, but when I finally did, none of them worked...I tried redeeming them repeatedly over the last two months, and finally was able to get GOW3 to work, but none of the others. They just kept saying error
    and to try again later.

    Now the codes themselves are no longer in my messages, so I called xbox support - basically a longwinded answer to say they can do nothing for me. Not only can they get me new codes, but they also can't refund me the money for the ultimate edition as all
    I really would have wanted (if I knew about this code situation) is the standard edition. Thanks for taking 140 dollars of my money.

    The advice I got - post this on the forums and maybe someone can help. My case number was

    My friend tried using the code on his account and still didn't work. My local store said Microsoft can give me a new code.

    Both are set to Australia, I've checked numerous times. I even got my friend to try the codes and they still didn't work.

    After doing some research, it appears that Sea of Thieves Ancient Coins, whether purchased or redeemed through the Microsoft platform, are only reflected and usable in the Microsoft Store/Xbox version of the game.

    yeah, limited edition got a code too even though they didn't need it, you could pass it on to a friend who didn't get the code or hold onto it for someone else, like a friend who doesn't get the game till christmas.
