Friends can't see me online

Have noticed that I'm not the only one with this problem.

Recently my friends haven't been able to see me online. I've tried changing my settings on here and on my Xbox One so that "Everybody" can see me online, but it doesn't work. I've even tried to block everybody, save it, then change back and that doesn't work
either.

Any help would be much appreciated as this is getting very annoying.

Which device are you playing on where you're having this problem and what type of troubleshooting steps have you tried to fix it?

People can't see me online

Hi there,

I have set my privacy settings to online but my friends still can't see that i'm online. weird cause I want them to see that i'm online.

Sorry to hear it. Are you sure that you haven't set your preferences on the console to Appear Offline? Head over to the Friends tab and select Profile to check.

Hi,

Yeah a friend I was online with had the same issue previously and that fixed it.

Unsure how that happened though as I didn't even know where it was....

No worries. Perhaps someone else set it as a joke or you may have been checking out the profile page at one point and switched it accidentally.

on my profile it says Social.. and all my friends say i Appear Offline

I suggest to restart your computer. If that doesn’t work make sure you have an up to date version of the app and if that doesn’t work then uninstall the app the reinstall it.

Done all of those points many times. It's been a problem since i built the computer 4 months ago. I'm at the brink of doing a fresh windows install again.

Yeah your privacy setings must be blocked.

go to settings--->Privacy---->make sure its selected to adult or go into customize and make sure online status is selected to everyone or friends only.
