Friends cant join my server but I can through LAN

I am trying to get my friends to be able to join my server and the only join option seems to be though Lan. I downloaded it from the https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/download/server/bedrock and
have tried what I could my computer and friends are completely up to date in 1.16.10 . the server is running through Wi-Fi on my computer and I join it from my Xbox through LAN (the only option). This is my first time trying to make a server and just wanted
to try it out with friends. My friends aren't on my WIFI so cant join though LAN.

ohh i had been adding my internal ip address

how do i find that one?

you will need your external ip address and input that into the server and then give that ip to your friends. i have a minecraft server running 247 for my kids and their friends.

I restarted my wifi router this morning and it seemed to have fixed the server. I still cant connect to the world consistenly through LAN, but the server I began on my wifi seemed to fix the connection problem I was having.

I am not currrently in the beta nor are my friends. I just logged onto my Dad's Xbox and tried to see if he could join my game, and what I found was that under joinable friends, I dont even show up. However, under LAN games (as our systems are on the same
network), I do show up, and theres no problem connecting to my server through LAN. I don't know if that would help diagnose the problem, but thats more info I just got and thought id share
