Friends can't hear me in Party

Apologies if this has been posted else where but I am new to the forum and still trying to find my way around. The problem I have is that my friends cannot hear me during an xbox live party on xbox one. I can hear everything they say perfectly, but no matter
what I do they cannot hear me.

My nat setting is open, I have tried completely unplugging the machine and re starting. I even bought a brand new head set as I thought perhaps the mic was damaged on my other, I have updated my controller. is there something I am missing? please could somebody
    help me.

    Thank you.

    :)

There are 2 standards for 3.5 mm headphone jacks, called OMTP and CTIA. On both standards, the microphone and ground connectors are reversed. So if you use an OMTP compliant headset on the Xbox, the microphone is "talking" to the ground connector of the
controller, while the console is "listening" for the microphone on a silent ground pin.

Please try the following: Open up the messaging tab on your console, and compose a message, but instead of typing text, press the Microphone icon, and try to record a message.

If you are able to pre-listen to your message before sending it, you being unable to talk in a party is a network issue.

If the console doesn't record your voice message at all, and all you hear is silence, then your 3.5 mm headset is probably incompatible.

You can try to buy a CTIA to OMTP adapter (or vice versa, as these adapters just reverse both connectors, they work both ways). That adapter can be found online or in any cellphone stores. Since the only purpose is to reverse two connectors, these cables
are dirt cheap, and if a store wants more than the price of a coffee-to-go for that cable, you're being ripped off.

I'm having the same problem but it's also applying to party chat, I can't hear my friends nor can they hear me.

Friends can't hear me during Party Chat

Ah, iPhone....I have a complete knowledge gap there as I don't like Apple so I will be no use

However, a couple of further questions:

    - It sounds like the party chats were working fine before yes? And then suddenly stopped?

    - Was there a phone update at all?

    - Have you checked to make sure whatever app you use for the parties (presumably the Xbox App) doesn't have an update?

    - I assume you have double-checked to make sure your phone hasn't suddenly revoked Microphone access to said app?
