Friends can't hear me and I can't hear them

Trying to find a solution through rigorous forum search but no luck

I join a friends party through the companion app on my PC and it works fine until at some undetermined point I can no longer hear them and they cannot hear me. I don't see the app registering me or my friends speaking. I leave and rejoin and it works for
a little bit before the same problem occurs. Only just started happening about 2 weeks ago. Cleared cache and all, even tried the game bar and it runs into the same problem.

Any ideas on fix?

Have you the latest Windows 10 Build available? (Win key + R type winver and check if you are running 1909)

Have you checked if there are any update on Microsoft Store for this App?

unfortunately that's a windows issue. Make sure your computer is up to date with all updates security and otherwise. Its definitely not uncommon that you are having this issue. Allot have. Sorry that this is happening to you.

I have adjusted my audio I don't know how many times and still nothing. The most I have is when they speak they say they hear a echo of what they are saying coming from my mic.
