friend request on X Box One

Under the bell icon it should show all notifications and alerts, including friend requests. Hope this helps.

I check my notifications panel to see who has added me recently, as x Sarasaurus x said its the little bell icon.

Sometimes I get a friend request but it disappears almost at once before I can read the game tag or react. In XB 360, these requests appear in the message list but not in the XB One message list. I tried looking online by PC but the request is
not there either when I log in.

I believe that if you look at your profile on your console, hit rb until you hit social, you will find your answer

I can understand how this can be confusing. As it operates differently the friend request on 360 to xbox one.

On the 360 it is a request to which you can either decline or accept. On the xbox one it works by followers and friends. When somebody adds you, it is no longer a request but much like a follower. You can add them back as a friend which will make you both
friends.

You can click your home button on your controller to see a little bell icon. The person that added you should pop up there as a notification. If it is not appearing you can check your notification preferences in your settings on the console.

Also try doing a reset of your console that might help with the notifications displaying correctly. Hold your finger on the power button until it completely shuts down. Give it a few moments then start it back up.
