Friend Request Cannot Complete Process

Okay, so I have had this ongoing problem on my xbox 360 for a couple of days now. Someone sent me a friend request that I am unable to accept, decline, or delete. When I try to do any of these things, it just says "Cannot complete process. Contact xbox
support" (no error code). I have checked my settings to make sure they are set to everyone, cleared my cache, and verified the number of friends on both of our lists to make sure there are not too many. Even tried redownloading my profile as well as unplugging
my system and router and waiting to restart them. Nothing works. I still have the friend request in my message box. Other messages work fine. I called support and was told they never heard of this happening. They said they are looking into it but I have had
no response after 3 days. Anyone else having this issue? A little help would be great. Thanks.

Why can't I send friend requests anymore

For some reason, when I send friend requests, it says that Xbox LIVE "couldn't complete the process". When I restart my Xbox, the friend requests appear on my friends list, pending. But I still can't send any requests. When I cancel a request, it says it
cannot complete process, and I have to restart my Xbox again.

It only updates whenever I restart my Xbox. It won't work otherwise.

Would you be able to confirm for us that you are logged into an adult account? A child account may potentially have restrictions on accepting friend requests.

 

Sorry to hear it. I've had this happen before although it was so long ago I can't remember why. You should be able to accept the friend request from here Sign in to your Microsoft account

Sorry to hear about the situation that you're finding yourself in.

This could be some glitch from the console not updating the right way.

I would recommend trying the steps here on our site entitled
Troubleshoot problems with an update to your Xbox 360 console and see if rolling back your updates (Solution 7) helps you out with this funky issue.

Give that guide a look through and let us know if updating the console helped resolve this problem

Esteban R. Thank you for the reply. I tried the steps you suggested in the link from your post. It seems I was able to decline the friend request. However, the message still appears in my message box and I am unable to delete it. This is very strange.
I do not have a problem deleting other messages.

 

Thank you for the reply onyxishere. When I went to the site, the friend request is not there. It looks like the friend request has been declined but the message still shows up in my message box on my Xbox 360. It doesn't delete for some reason.
