Friend Notifications

Is there a way to get it on Xbox One where it pops up when a friend signs on like it did for 360?

- Controller battery notification

Friend online notifications?

I'd be interested to know how this works actually. Does it only work for favourites? I can understand why they turned it off by default for friends now you can have 1000 (you'd have a notification every five seconds), but I don't remember seeing one at all now.

 

No, this is something we are hoping to see fixed in the upcoming update.

 

They should have this. We get a notification when we receive a txt message from a friend regardless if on a 360 or 1, so the same should apply for friend notifications. Especially friends who we add to our favourites list. 360 and 1 do run on "Xbox Live"
so we should have the ability to receive such notifications without having to search up the friend to see their online status whether they're online on not.

 

should absolutely already be there with the option to turn off for those that don't want to be bothered with it. Why on earth this Xbox One doesn't seem to have some of the basic functionality of Xbox 360 is just plain dumb. Its like they decided to create
a console from scratch using Win 8 vs building upon and evolving the already great experience that was on Xbox 360. Microsoft, you guys are so out of touch, its so sad!

 

I agree Xbox 1 lacks a lot of the --basic-- stuff from Xbox 360. Recent Players list, battery indicator, peps having issues with the party chat, can't send VOICE messages to other Xbox 1 users, can't add a pic/theme to the UI background, can't read USB videos/pics,
can't access console's HDD under settings. Notifications are laggy too on the Xbox 1. It's not just our Internet Connection. It's the way they've created the software for Xbox 1. Too much emphasis on the "Windows 8" style. It's not a PC it's a console aka
Xbox. Xbox 360's current UI is also metro.

When I log onto my Xbox 1 console, it doesn't even notify me how many Xbox Live friends currently on Xbox 1 are online even if I've added them to this favourites list. When I log onto my Xbox 360 console, the notifications are never laggy and it tells me
how many Xbox 360 friends are online and Xbox 360 also has beacons for which games you want to play with friends. Xbox 1 does have improvements which need to be made.

 

Just give MS time they will fix a lot of things that we are asking for great things are coming we just have to be Patient....

 

How much time do they need?!! This is a simple feature that should have been included at launch. I've had my console for 3 months now and have received 3 updates (release day, February, and now the preview) and they haven't even hinted that this is ever
going to be brought back.

Not knowing when friends come online is the most anti-social thing they could have done. Half my FL aren't even playing their console anymore because of this one feature. C'mon MS....get it together.

 

Slow down spanky.... no reason to send out a single update just for that...besides.... with the ability of having 1000 friends... do you really want a notification EACH time someone pops on...

Most likely in the update coming March 7th

 

dont want it and that's why it wont be added because comments i have seen have been the same

the hassle of having say 200 friends and them all coming online and all you get is beep beep beep nah your ok

 

they should limit the notifications to favorites only.... /end of problem

 

They should have it back but set so you only get notifications from your favorites list so you don't get spammed I only ever real life friends anywayS

 

Exactly, the notifications should be for favorites only.

The people complaining about this feature don't realize that even the 360 had a option to turn those notifications off totally, or only when watching video. Just because you don't want a pop-up while your watching TV doesn't mean they should totally do
away with a feature that 99% of the other gamers loved and used. Bring it back for Favorite friends and give the option to the 1% to turn it off.

Please work on your reading comprehension. I listed 3 updates this could have been included in. Of course they aren't going to patch/update the entire system for one feature. SMH

 

I agree, i would like to see it appear for Favourites list. At the moment, the first thing i do is snap activity and look who's on out of favourites
