Friend keeps getting removed when added on Xbox 360 and Xbox One/series

Please check your Xbox account settings by making sure that your friend is properly added to your Xbox Live friends list and not just appearing temporarily.

And then sync your profile across devices. To do this, sign out of your Xbox account on both consoles, then sign back in to ensure your profile syncs correctly.

Next is to clear local cache. Do this On Xbox One/Series, go to Settings > System > Storage,then clear the cache to refresh your account data.

Then check network connection because a weak or unstable internet connection can cause issues with syncing friends lists. Please restart your router or using a wired Ethernet connection and then check if it works.

After that is to ensure online visibility. To do this, check your privacy settings on both consoles to make sure your friend's online status is visible to you and vice versa. And on friends List visibility, double-check that your friends list is set to "Friends" in your privacy settings on both consoles.

If you have difficulty adding friends directly on the console, kindly use the Xbox app on a Windows 10 device or mobile phone.

I have this problem as well. From what I can tell it is only happening with friends I added on the Xbox 360. When I removed a friend that I added on the Xbox One it left no trace. The two friends that I added on the 360 that I removed on the Xbox One still
show up as followers.

Another one that I think should of been added from the beginning is the ability to have notifications like Xbox 360 when friends come online. If this was removed do the size increase of the friends list, then make it for your favorites. I miss this feature.

I have this issue with two of my friends. Added one on 360 and the other through Xbox One. Neither of them show online to me even though they are and we've checked all the settings...

I also have two friends whom I added on my 360, who only play 360, but do not show on that friends list. But they do appear in my xbox one friends list. I didn't even have xbox one when I added them

Hello, this isn't a new profile. I've used this same one since the 360 and still use it on Series X, only changing the gamertag twice over the years. They added me about 3 months ago through the modern Xbox One/Xbox Series X|S friending system
