Friend is only visible as offline (not blocked!)

Hi, my best friend is only visible as offline. I checked all network settings and tested all on xbox one x. The problem also exists in xbox windows app and xbox android app. All other friends can see my friend's status and I'am not blocked for him. We also
tried to renew our friendship on xbox. Nothing works. All of us are have xbox gold status.

So I'm 100% sure that this is an backend problem.

We have an Xbox1 which shows all friends as offline even though they are online and are not blocking their online status......any clues

I have checked our settings and they show as visible

 

Hackers kicking me and my friends offline.

This guy keeps joining my parties even if they are on invite only and I have blocked him. I even go as far as always appearing offline and he joins my parties and then kicks me and my friends offline. Please help.

 

Hi! Did this issue just occur or are you experiencing it for a little longer? The Xbox Live servers recently had some issues which may have caused this.

 

Hi, I forget to say, that both of us checked the privacy settings. they are on standard.

Wen played online from 2010 until 2013 on xbox 360, this was working, and i saw him as online. Then we had a break until this year. I bought a xbox one x in april 2018 and he own a xbox one since 2017.
The problem has been known to us since April 2018.

 

I have the same problem well u can fix by makeing a new account on my first account offline and it says a error when try to add as friend my 2nd account it says hes online and playing

What you can try is removing and re adding your account
to the Xbox again. You will not lose anything all progress is saved to your Xbox live cloud. This might refresh your profile and read your friends list a little better.

 

Hi, I would try this, but I dont do this because, like I mentioned before its also on Windows and android app. i mean, its not a client problem or a problem with the console. There should be a problem with Microsoft backend. Also I can see the online status
of all my other friends.

We suggest (for both accounts) to be removed and re-added as previously stated by XBF Aaron G. Also we need a little more information, are both of these accounts adult accounts or child accounts? Let us know so we can further assist in this matter!!

What can also be done is removing him as a friend and re-adding him. If that doesn't work then the issue would be on the actual account at that point we suggest

Hi. We tried this many many times. I removed him as friend and added him again. Also we tried ouout to block him and to remove the block.

The problem is that your profile is being read by your console the wrong way. It has nothing to do with your friends list or any other account but yours. The only way you can get your console to RE READ your profile and assess what your friends are doing.
You would have to Remove your whole account, from your Xbox entirely. Then you would have to re download your profile to the Xbox again. In order to help you Scott, you would need to try the troubleshooting we recommend to narrow down the problem. Otherwise
you wont be able to get your friends online status. Make sure you have your email and password to your account before your remove it.

Thanks for reaching out and keeping us updated! We appreciate the efforts and know this can be a frustrating situation. So, other friends can see both accounts online. The friend whose account is shown as offline can see others as "online" though? Also, the
account was removed as a friend, then re-added to the friend list, blocked and unblocked the account, and removed the accounts from the console already, right? This issue where the profile appears offline for him happens on a mobile device, Windows 10 and
Console.

Let me ask, when using another device, is the issue happening on the Xbox App or Xbox.com? It appears there would be an issue with the account itself. Try to make a change to the account. For instance, go to the avatar and add a hat or something then save
the changes. That way it can refresh the profile or try to change the password or the Microsoft account then power cycle the console. It may ask to re-enter the password.
