Friend Banned From Xbox Live

Okay, I have a friend. In short I'll call her D. D has been banned permanently because of friends of her ex that repeatedly reports her account. I hate that they do it and she has been chat banned on numerous occasions in the past. I know there is no such
thing as a false ban because they're investigated. She does use strong language and have anger issues but she was *** by her cousin and one of her boyfriends for seven years of her life and her family treated her like s***. Even blaming her when they found
out. So all she knows is this personality and I've been working on fixing it because I'm that guy. Anyways, her ex's friends are using that knowledge of her personality and just are randomly reporting her to get her banned.

Although it is right in the terms of technicality, does Microsoft do anything to ensure that he people who reported the account actually have interacted with the accused account? Me and a few friends play with D daily and all she does is play with us and
we have not been bothered. We've been supporting her all this time. Are people just able to make random accounts or tell their friends to report someone just to get them banned or does Microsoft actually take that into consideration? I know this wouldnt matter
for hackers banned because if they get caught by any means that's just fine.

But someone should not be able to report you for language when they've never heard you talk in the first place.

Well, I am not staff. But, there are a variety of different reasons you could be banned. Is your Gold Membership just expired? Not banned, just need to renew it? Do you have your xbox JTAG'ed? Any sort of hacking that is detected will ban your console and flag your GamerTag. If one of your friends has their console JTAG'ed and you logged into Live on it without knowing it was hacked would get you banned. Excessive swearing, racial slurs, spamming people could do it.

You're not giving us a whole lot to go on, so I can't be 100% sure. Did you buy the xbox from ebay? Possibly the person before you hacked it. Again, just too many unknown variables.

Why did that response sound like an automated voice message from Cortana or Siri. I already said i know Xbox investigates the claims.

Point is these people don't play or interact with her. They are reporting her based off the knowledge that she cusses every day. But she cusses within our party and we're fine with it. It's a part of her personality. But we're not the ones reporting her.
She is getting reported by people who arent even being bothered by her. So Microsoft goes in and investigates and sees her language. But they don't take into consideration that the accounts that are reporting havent even been interacting with her.

It's like you cussing in your own private party and i dont hear it. But you did something to get on my bad side in real life a while back. It makes me mad enough to report you for any reason. I know you cuss alot so i click language and you get banned later
on for it. Your had no direct effect on me. I heard nothing you said. But you get banned. Later, Me being petty, i keep reporting you and you thinking you're safe , keep cussing within the privacy of your own party. Then you get banned again and again. This
is the situation we're in.

 

Xbox live service is not made of "private parties" in the contrary is a gaming environment where everyone has the right to play without being harassed or abused. Every breach of the service rules and the code of conduct in this environment is enforced as
warned in the agreement you signed when you registered your account.

Furthermore I suggest you to read the code of conduct carefully and observe it every time you are connected to the xbox live service:

Basically, it doesn't matter what you've been reported for or by whom, if you do something that violates the code of conduct you can get a suspension/ban. She may not have been talking directly to those people, but she still used language that is not allowed
on Live.

 

so If I swear at my friends in messages as part of conversation with them, and then someone completely separate reports me for communication later, even if I didn't swear at that person, will that still result in a ban? or is it only if the person I swore
at reports me themselves?

 

good luck with that not like microsoft are going to care they just say "we have no connection with the xbox live support team" asking microsoft is like talking to a brick wall, this kind of thing put me off xbox live in total

 

To me the whole you cant swear....you cant talk s**t thing is an attack on our constitutional right to free speech. This new generation is so candy coated. They're so sissified. I swear im gonna wake up one of these days and Taco Bell is going to be the
fine cuisine, people will be wiping their a***s with seashells and there will be machines everywhere giving you tickets for swearing. And when i wake up in that world you can bet your straight and narrow a*s im going to be a Simon Phoenix. The rules they make
us abide by...and pay for that s**t is crazy. S**t talking was a given when my generation played video games. Smh! Whats so hard about pressing a d**m block button? No these rat kids nowadays snitch on people for expressing themselves how they want. Its almost
enough to make one switch to Playstation. #FreeXboxCommunication

Which private networks and homes and workplaces aren't

Just like anywhere else a home owner can remove you for speech they don't like and no they can't be sued for it

This is why im getting a ps4 i got banned from some guy and friends when i did nothing wrong. And since i used to game share with him he gave my password out to all his friends and one of them tried to get me perma banned by putting my profile picture
as something dirty but lucky i change my password bit i still been banned for about a week and when its over they do it agon and again and xbox wont do anything about because they just dont care like honesly i had to make a another accoint just to talk to
my friend s this is why xbox is trash
