    Fried Power Brick on Xbox One


    Hello. I made a post a few hours ago about an electricity problem in my Xbox one power brick. After hours of thinking and research, I finally figured the problem out. I have a fried power brick and semi fried TV, as the person to see the Xbox power brick
    die was smelling smoke at the time and just heard a snap and flash, and boom, the electricity was gone, signs of a surge frying my brick, even in a surge protector. But anytime I plug my Xbox one power brick into a surge protector or a socket, it trips the
    electricity for that floor. When I unplug it and hit the switch, it's fine again. Does anyone have a solution to fix this problem? Thanks, much appreciated.

    Just to add, if when plugged into the surge protector, the whole floor trips and the surge protector didn't, i'd be looking to replace the surge protector, as its not doing it's job at all!

    Sounds like your power brick is destroyed, you should stop trying to use it immediately. The electricity tripping will be being caused by an earthing or shorting fault (the current from the live feed grounding or contacting with the return causing a spike
    and trip). Get a replacement ASAP.

    Thanks, I know now that it is the power brick that is the problem and not the actual house... I will be going to a GameStop or a Microsoft store to purchase a new one.

    Same thing occurring when I plug the brick into the wall or a different surge, plus I use other plugs that are fine in the same surge.

    Wow that's crazy, I have no idea how to fix that but have you checked your other electronics? there might be more issues.

    Adapter is burnt the first time I plug in.

    Yeah if you ended up using the power brick that came with the xbox when you bought it in the US and plugged it in while in india you would have fried your xbox one.

    The voltage in india is 220v and the voltage the US power bricks use are only 110v.

    If you used the US power brick in india this is would NOT be covered under warranty.
