Friday 13th

Does anyone else think that this would make pretty good next gen games if made correctly? I mean picture the whole of Crystal Lake to explore, with an invincible Jason Voorhees just popping up at random with no way to escape or kill him. Sure it would probably
be a short-ish game but after watching the movies the other night on X1, it got me to thinking that if the right developer got a hold of this, it would be pretty epic.

Im predicting a February 13th release. Thats a Friday. Or March 13th, also a Friday. November the 13th is a Friday as well. Those are the only three dates like that this year.

I remember back in the day they had a Friday 13th game on the ZX Speccy!

 

It would have to be done right. And I mean right. The eerie feel of the movies, the naked teens, random encounters with Jason, among other things would have to be captured perfectly.

A game similar to "Friday the 13th" has been done already & it is called "Manhunt" (Original Xbox Rockestar 2004), but you would have to add the environmental kills from "The Punisher" (Original Xbox Volition Inc 2005). Also, all gun play would have to
be removed and Jason would have to be unkillable (because it would be lame to not stay true to the movies).

A "Z movie franchise" becoming a great game....I don't think so.

I know that game stories are not great,but not as bad as those Jason "movies"....

The first one was average,the sequels really bad.

Just let's Jason (and his mother) rest in peace.

 

No movie with Kevin Bacon is a "Z" movie... sheesh.

 

I firmly believe that 99% of ideas can be made into good games....if done properly.

 

I'm not much of a fan of these movies and haven't really seen any of them to be honest. Although, while flipping through channels the other day, I saw a scene from one of the films where a boyfriend find his girlfriend with no eyeballs moments before he
gets strangled to death against a tree with a leather belt. What a way to go... Also, wasn't Jamie Lee Curtis in the original as her break-out role?

 

She was in the original Halloween.

Halloween is the original slasher film.

I've only recently seen the the original Nightmare on Elm Street and Hellraiser.

Psycho,is the original slasher movie but Carpenter create "the slasher movie codes."
