    Frequent Xbox Live Connection Drop


    Hello everyone,

    I am using an Xbox 360 slim and getting constant disconnection from Xbox Live. These disconnections appear completely random and always have the same issue when the Xbox fails the live connection. The Xbox says that it is an IP address error.

    I have the Xbox set on a static IP that nothing else on my network uses (10.0.0.36), the subnet mask is correct, and the gateway has been entered correctly. I've tried the following:

    • Clearing the system cache
    • Restarting the Xbox
    • Checking the Xbox Live service status
    • Restarting the modem
    • Re-configuring the network settings on the Xbox
    I do not wish to set the Xbox to DHCP because I have the address it is set on to use UPnP, which the Xbox would otherwise complain about.

    Using my phone, I can see that the Xbox does connect to the network, but the Xbox does not think it connects to the modem when I test the connection. If it helps I also have an Xbox One on the same network using a different IP (10.0.0.3) but the Xbox One
    has no issues like this.

    The error code I am receiving is: 80151901

    I suggest you look at the
    Xbox LIVE Disconnects | Xbox LIVE Slow | Speed up Xbox LIVE     page as it will provide you with solutions relating to your issue. Also, could you perform a
    Network Speed Test and post the results so we can determine whether your network is sufficient enough to run for Xbox LIVE! As well as this, could you do a Xbox LIVE connection test and review if any errors
    appear. If any errors do occur, have a look at the
    Xbox LIVE Connection Error     page as there are solutions to specific errors regarding XboxLIVE Connection errors!

    Ah, unfortunately since it's a third party adapter it's not one we can support. Would it be possible to try an official

    Wireless Networking Adapter    ? That would ensure that your Xbox console is getting the best possible signal.

    I've been using this adapter for 3 or 4 years and its never given me a single problem, but i just moved.

    If you're only here to advertise microsoft products, I'd rather have help from someone else. My wireless adapter works perfectly fine, the only difference is you don't get charged an arm and a leg for the first party logo.

    The signal is strong, it just cuts out, which it didn't do at my old house. Which means the only variable we're working with here my new internet service. so, its either a router issue, an issue with Comcast, or an issue with the wiring of my 100 year old
    building.

    Would port forwarding help maybe?

    I've called Comcast and they've only given me the whole "unplug-and-replug" bit. no actual help

    Anyone with something intelligent to say, your help would be greatly appreciated.

    Do you have a link to your wireless adapter? I'm not familiar with that one, and it may not be supported.
