Unfortunately I don't think there's anything in the update that will resolve this issue. To resolve this issue, you may want to consider getting a new router. This list is pretty solid, though I know that some users have pointed out one or two models as
being exceptional for supporting two consoles out of the box. Perhaps someone else would like to shed some light
    here?

You're problem is the Technicolor Modem. I had the same trouble 2 months back with it. I got fed up and just went to the comcast center and requested an arris modem. The Gateway of the technicolor modem goes out of whack and needs a factory reset almost
every time. Save yourself the headache and just replace it.

Just fixed this issue last night after doing all the same things. I did all the above, and it continued even after hours with tech support

EASY FIX. Mine was severely over heating. especially if it is stored at the vertical position. there is a main vent on the bottom. Take the machine out and let it sit, fan it off and let it cool. Then try to log in again.

The machine needs to breath and after time overheating cant destroy heat links and mother board.

Try to store in such a way that all ventilation ports are getting proper air flow.

I had this issue for a week and kept getting worse. not anymore! Mine is working

    Hope this helps

Okay Thanks Guys! Oddly enough mine is laying on its side and is pretty well ventilated. I wanted to avoid getting a new modem because I don't own a router and the 2-in-1 is a nice feature. However if this does continue I will request an Arris modem.

Arris has a new 2 in 1 feature now. Model TG862G is the one I requested and has worked flawlessly. I had your exact same problem. When I spoke to comcast 2 months ago I had to call their special wireless gateway line. He even said to get rid of the technicolor
    and get the arris haha.
