Frequent but intermittent loss of connection to xbox live when watching Netflix or playing ...

So...

When trying to watch netflix I got dropped repeatedly from Live with an error code of 5006-1090 and I have to wait anywhere from one - three mintues for connection back to Live before I can resume.

When playing titan fall I get disconnected from the game server in the same fashion and must wait for connection to Live to come back.

Now - my internet/network is not the root cause because all other devices stay connected to my network (wireless - wiring to the console if not an option). This is not an ISP issue because they were the people I went to first and they couldn't find anything
amiss.

I have done the unplug the console and the modem/router regularly and this doesn't buy me anything as I can get dropped from netflix or titanfall right after a full reboot.

So... yeah.. I have tried calling not support twice and one time I worked with Emma (and she was awesome but we didn't get the issue resolved). When I called to follow up I was told by a new rep that the issues was security related to my account and I got
transferred to another rep whom, while very friendly and willing to work on this, was not supposed to handle the issue as she was there to work on the "account security" which she said was all good.

Now when I had my 360 there were no issues what-so-ever. Help, please, and, oh, BTW, I'd really rather be called but my last experience was, well, disheartening.

And I'm willing to admit that I may not have categorized my issue properly from the beginning and if that is the case i apologize.

Again, please help me to resolve this issue.

Frequent disconnects from xbox live. (only when using the netflix app)

I too am interested in a "How to fix" as it seems there are many people having an issue with Netflix on the 360. I also get frequent disconnects from XBox live in the middle of watching a tv show more often than not. When you have a 2 year old, Netflix
is awesome, but these frequent drops make it difficult to help him wind down most nights.

 

Netflix/Hulu Jitter

I'm not aware of the issue you're referring to, but I do consistently get some sort of error message when watching Netflix telling me that it has to close. Oddly enough, I fall asleep at night watching Netflix and get this error, yet behind the error, my
episode of That '70s Show continues to play. And then I close the error message and start Netflix back up. Happens at least 3+ times over a period of 8 hours; I lose track of time when I sleep though, so who knows how frequent it really is.

 

You using wireless?

Wireless interference can cause problems like this. I had this with my 360 where all other devices worked but 360 kept disconnecting. Changing wifi channel fixed it.

If your disconnections are caused by interference then changing the wifi channel may fix it.

This needs to be done from the router settings page. On most routers you access this by typing 192.168.0.1 into internet explorer address bar.

If you get stuck post the make and model number of your router then someone may be able to guide you.
