    Freezing Video Output

I am using an openELEC based PC to output HD video and AC3 5.1 audio to my video input on the Xbox One.

It seems as if when the Xbox "decides" there are not enough changes on screen it just doesn't need to send the new video frames to the TV.

I *love* this feature of the Xbox, but this problem is starting to make it worth not using. I don't have a cable box. I don't want one. It seems like video "pass through" should not be an issue for any device, especially one this sophisticated.

Also, as a feature request, can you and the XBMC Team get together to allow control of XBMC through the Xbox, or (if the Gods unite) run XBMC on an Xbox again (officially this time!)? I will buy another three Xbox Ones right now if XBMC ran on it with voice
commands. Either way, on the Xbox itself or off on a separate computer.

    :)

Hi, if your TV has a just scan option in it's picture options try enabling that. Failing that try any other aspect ratio options the TV has.

Whenever I use the edge browser the whole of my tv is not used. Its off by about 1 inch n either side. When I try and use the full screen mode then it zooms in too much. Is there a way to solve this.

I am sorry for the very late reply.

Thank you for the input, but this is just not the case. I have used no less than six HDMI cables in troubleshooting this. One of which was the cable supplied with the Xbox one itself.

I have since bought another Xbox One and moved to Japan on a military base. I have a US Sony television (previously a Samsung with a Denon receiver) and have connected a Windows 7 PC to the input of the Xbox One.

The reason I know it is the Xbox failing is because when the video freezes, if I unplug the HDMI cable from the computer, the video updates to the current frame before the the Xbox tells me it lost the signal. Let me re-iterate and clarify, it updates the
screen to what it wouldn't show me before (the current actual state) and then say the connection has been lost.

For a while, I thought it might be audio issues that were causing it to freeze because it seemed like it would freeze on Windows mouse clicks. That just wasn't the case either. I tried adjusting the volume quite a bit too. It still just froze whenever without
noticeable provocation. I just needed to unplug and replug the HDMI cable to get it working again. Again, this is the HDMI cable that comes with the Xbox One.

I know that sounds a lot like an HDMI cable inferiority issue. I re-iterate, I used 6 different cables, two different computers, two different Xbox Ones, and two different operating systems. While I did not exhaust every possible permeation of that, I did
exhaust a logical number of them.

That leads me to believe the video pass-through process is locking up. For whatever reason, this should not be happening. Period. Bad input? FAIL GRACEFULLY. This is just poor programming. I, honestly, have not been reading around much on the net for this
because I don't have the time. I cannot be the only person with this issue, though. It is infuriating.

    No video output

I would like to elaborate on all that I have tried:

-Plugging the HDMI cord into all 3 of my TV's ports

    -Power cycling

-Unplugging both ends of the brick

-Unplugging all cords and waiting for several minutes

    No video output

First thing to try would be a hard reset of the console. Hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart
the console. Once it is back up and operational test for results. Let us know. Good Luck!
