Freezing midgame

Hi,

I'm experiencing freezing issues while playing. I have tried troubleshooting, and the factory reset, even did the offline update. Honestly this has me quite upset. I've been experiencing this since the April update, before yhat everything worked fine. If
there is a solution short of sending in my console I'm all ears.

I keep disconnecting from xbox live

Everu time it says midgame that i have connection interupted and that i disconnect from my xbox party

 

My xbox360 S only seems to have disc read errors when trying to install games to the hard drive

So my xbox 360 was freezing up and having a bunch of disc read errors. Freezing up was usually either midgame or when trying to load maps for multiplayer. I took it to a place near me that repairs xbox's and got it back last night.

It worked perfect as far as playing games. I was able to get war for cybertron installed to my hard drive, but then when I tried to install halo 4 I got disc read error again. It let me play halo 4 but not install it

Any ideas/suggestion .

it's an xbox 360 slim that is less then 2 years old. I'm about to dump it and buy a ps3.

 

I believe I have the same problem as you. Mine had been acting up from about late April to Late May, but recently was acting fine for about a month. Now in the last day it has been freezing like it used to. Really very frustrating.

Thanks Mister Mascot. If my console does this again I'll go back through the troubleshooting process. Recently factory reset again, and waiting to see if the problem persists.

 

So, I'm still experiencing this issue, and would love to avoid wiping out all of my game data from the cloud. To be clear this is affecting multiple games, and the content and games I have installed were purchased through my own account as of three factory
resets ago. I still have my console tagged as my buddy's home console and vice versa though. Any suggestions?

Did you follow each of the steps on the guide Mister Mascot linked? It's important to try each and every step detailed on that page.

I would like to note at step 6 it will ask you to clear your local storage, which will not remove your cloud saves. As long as you regularly play while connected to Xbox Live, your saves will be stored in the cloud.

Be sure to attempt each step on that page and let us know how it goes!

 

I have tried the steps. It tends to delay the issue for a little bit, but it returns after a while. My Xbox is currently at my friend's house in another town; since I saw little need to bring an acting up console home with me. I'm considering sending it
in to see if there is anything that can be done, although since it acts up intermittently I suspect it will be wasted effort on my part. Thinking about that console is quite infuriating to be honest. I understand hardware fails, but this persistent issue irritates
me.
