    Freezing and lagging In the Xbox menus and games


    My Xbox keeps freezing as I try and navigate Xbox menus and play games, games sometimes won't open and hard resetting and even factory resetting it haven't helped

    Lag

    Might be just me but has anybody been experiencing lag when browsing thru the xbox menu? especially in the marketplace, and i mean bad. sometimes it will freeze for like 4 - 5 secs. when am playing a game and all it's fine but going thru the menu is terrible. any tips on sorting this out?

    Games freezing and or lagging

    Skyrim and Fallout 4 keep lagging while playing. Skyrim will play fine for about 20 minutes and then will consistently lag about every few second and the start working after a minute. I have an Xbox one x that I bought last month. Fallout 4 will freeze
    completely and I have to shut the system down, pull the power cord and push the power button several times to get it to work. Fallout will work fine for about an hour and then freeze again. I have not tried the other games yet. These problems started last
    week when both games updated.

    Thanks for letting us know what you have tried. Let's try a full power cycle by following these steps. Unfortunately if the issue does occur any further, your Xbox console may need to be repaired. To begin that process, please head to our
    Online Service Center.

    1. Press and hold the power button until your Xbox One console fully powers down.
    2. Remove the power cable from the back along with any accessories plugged in and let it sit for 5 minutes.
    3. After 5 minutes have passed, boot back up and try again.

    its actually not just the older console, i have a new slimline xbox and the game freezes all the time, or lags alot in the audio menu

    Frame Rates & Freezing

    I would guess that logging out and back in fixed the frame rate/freezing issue. I've heard this a bunch of times now and have experienced it a couple times myself. The couple times I started freezing/lagging in the menu system or just trying to get into
    a lobby I just turned the xbox off and back on and everything was fine.

    Hey MatiMat,

    I have not had a similar problem, but I am not sure where it is lagging/ freezing up on you at specifically. Have you quit the app from the Xbox menu? If not try that and then rebooting your console. You can follow the steps below here:

    As a last solution, you may want to try uninstalling and reinstalling the game.

    There are lag, stop/start, freeze issues when playing an installed version of the game. You could try uninstalling and playing from the disc?

    .

    This just freezes for a second or so though, not a full Xbox freeze.
