freezing and crashing

My xbox one either freezes or just shuts off. im getting no error messages and ive tried to troubleshoot using various tips from this site and other xbox one owners but nothing works. It freezes and crashes while playing games or watching movies.

Sorry to hear about the Xbox One issues. And when you say "My Xbox One either freezes or just shuts off" is this something that's occurring when you're inside a game or is this happening during any random moment in time during usage of your Xbox One? Like
such of the activities below:

1. Playing a game.
2. Clicking or moving around dashboard.
3. Using any sort of application that you've downloaded or used on Xbox One.

If you are receiving crashing or freezing during any of these activities which implies you are crashing or freezing on just about any activity on your Xbox One, then I recommend the steps below:

Reboot your console:

1. Turn off your console by holding your Xbox button in the center of your controller for exactly 10 seconds. The console should power down.
   
2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button again on your console or the controller.
   

Now if that doesn't seem to set you in the right direction, can you tell me if either your Xbox One is horizontally positioned on a flat surface? And if it isn't i'd recommend checking out the

Xbox One Positioning page. The page is going to go over some of the points provided below:

1. On a stable surface.
2. Well-ventilated, cool, and away from heat sources.
3. Uncluttered. Has nothing on, under, around, nothing blocking the vents.

It is still crashing. its horizontally positioned on a flat surface and is well ventilated but still freezing and crashing

 

Mine does the same thing. Has been since the last update. When it freezes, ya just have to wait a few and it catches up.

 

Is your console connected directly to mains power or are you using plug adapters or surge protectors? Surge protectors are not recommended as the console already has a surge protector built into the power brick. Using a additional surge protectors will
cause instability.
