Freezes when connected to network Wired and Wireless

I'm having a very odd problem with my 360.

Whenever it is connected to any network within 30 minutes, regardless of if it's being played, sitting idle or downloading updates will freeze to the point it needs to be rebooted.

Here's what I've figured out so far (I work IT so I'm fairly good with stuff like this:

1. Happens regardless of wired or wireless connection

2. Happens on multiple networks

3. X-box can be played for at least 12 hours straight when not on network (meaning it's not heat related as far as I can tell)

4. downloads resume after rebooting and reconnecting, and I do eventually get all patches, downloaded games, etc.

Here's what I've tried to fix it:

1. replaced router

2. replaced (dsl) modem

2. switched off every other device on the network to prevent interference

3. tried other networks

I'm at a loss as to what else I can do, any help?

Are any other computers/devices connected to the network and/or using the internet when you try to download this game? How do you connect to the network: wired or wireless? Can you try wired?

 

Connection problems

Go offline forget wireless network controller connected and it still freezes. 4 different controllers 3 different wires yet when connected to the internet all of the controllers work fine

If the console freezes even after you have changed your router or network. It may be an issue with the console itself.

Have you tried clearing the cache 3 times on the console and turning it off for 30 seconds?

If you have and still has not worked. How about re-inserting the hard drive or trying a different hard drive? Also make sure you remove other 3rd party devices such as flash drives, etc.

I've cleared the cache at least 20 times on each storage device, and since I don't have another HDD to test with, I've simply removed the one I added (consoles a 4GB model with a MS hard drive added after the fact) 80 GB I believe. same results.

 

If you only have an internal memory on the console (4gb) and after trying every possible troubleshooting steps, I strongly suggest you contact Xbox technical support for repair with their licensed technicians.

Remove and re-install latest update:

1.On your console, go to Settings hub, and then select System.

2.Select Storage.

3.On your controller, press the following button sequence:

a. Press the left bumper.

b. Press the right bumper.

c. Press the X button.

d. Press the left bumper.

e. Press the right bumper.

f. Press the X button.

4. When prompted, select Yes.

5. After the console restarts, sign in using an Xbox LIVE gamertag, and download the update again.
