    Freeview tv boxes and the X Box X


    I recieved my new X Box X on the 10th November at launch

    On the 11th - my BT freeview box ( which sits on top of my new XBox) could not tune into any TV channels, saying there was no ariel connection.

    I thought it was a coincidence, called out an Aries engineer anyway, who checked that channels were being received, and did a factory reset of the box ( I had tried this and it couldn't find channels), however it worked and normal service resumed.

    Intermittent happened over the next few days again, so I got a new Manhattan freeview box, this worked for a day and then will not now tune into any programs. Even moving the XBox away won't help now - I think this is permanently damaged.

    So....... does the XBox one effect other nearby electrical equipment ?

    Is there a recommended distance apart ?

    Never had this problem with XBox one, and had the same set up .

    Cant find anything on line so thought I would ask here.

    You will probably need a freeview box. I'm not really sure how that all works because we don't have freeview in the United States. Assuming freeview boxes connect via HDMI, then you can use it on Xbox One. Otherwise you will need a freeview box and the Xbox
    One Digital TV Tuner.

    No you will need a Freeview box that has a HDMI port on it, built in Freeview from TV won't work.

    Does the US have a TV service the same as FreeView? the adapter is only available because we have FreeView, and mainly due to the fact everyone in the UK has to have a TV licence.

    With the adapter above you don't need an additional box, but you should be able to achieve the same by adding a box in the same way you add a cable box.

    Just watched there looks very impressive. I'm just wondering though as I have built in freeview in my tv, will I need a freeview box to use the watch tv feature through Xbox1?

    I have an X Box One X with a 4K TV and it's spectacular, I think it's the perfect excuse to buy a 4K TV :p
