FreeSync on an older Xbox One (not X or S)?

I was watching the lastest Inside Xbox episode on YouTube and it seems like FreeSync is not only exclusive to X or S... but as well as the original Xbox One as well.

Is this correct? Aren't the hardware between all three dramatically different? Could the older Xbox One models support FreeSync all along?

I mean everywhere I look it says it says Xbox One Consoles and the Family of Xbox One Consoles. So I guess I find out when that Spring patch comes rolling in.

    :)

  2. XBOX ONE X Freesync over HDMI Monitor Support

Hello Support, i have any questions about Xbox One X Freesync, so I found this Monitor:
    http://www.samsung.com/at/monitors/uhd-u28h750/ ….

This Monitor Supports AMD FreeSync over the HDMI.

So could i can use Freesync on my Xbox One X over the HDMI with this Monitor???

I search a 4K Monitor with FreeSync Monitor and nobody can help me. I cannot found a Supportlist of Freesync Monitors for the Xbox One x. So, please help me. I am Not alone about this Question.

    Many thank's

Yes, all Xbox One models will be getting Freesync support. At the time of this posting, Freesync is available in ALL preview rings right now, so if you're in the Insider Program and you have a Freesync-supported display, this should be worth checking out
    and testing.

One thing to note is there is a slight difference with the Freesync support on the different console models though:

    • The Xbox One S/X will get Freesync 2 support (with HDR).
    • The original Xbox One will get Freesync support (the first version of Freesync).

Freesync has to be enabled on a monitor it is rarely ever enabled out of the box so you should have a look in the Asus monitor settings. According to the AMD freesync website the Asus VP28UGQ does support Freesync over HDMI, if it still doesn't work then
it may need special attention by Xbox team.

The only really useful range of Freesync for Xbox is 30-60Hz and many monitors do not fall into that range. Plus many games are capped at 30fps so simply wont do anything, Freesync needs uncapped frame rates. 60fps games that cannot
maintain a solid 60 do benefit. Over 60fps would be rare for any Xbox One games and I imagine there is a 60fps cap in place too.
