Freesync HDR Monitor can't get HDR to enable

    I just bought an
    HP monitor model 3BZ12AA#ABA
. It supports Freesync HDR and 1440p. I have enabled freesync on the monitor and the Xbox allows me to check boxes for Allow variable refresh rate, allow HDR 10, allow YCC 4:2:2 and some others. I have checked them all
and so I thought I was good to go but the games themselves are still not displaying in HDR.

When I go into 4K TV Details the system it says "Your TV setup doesn't support HDR10 for gaming. Games won't be shown in HDR." The monitor is VESA DisplayHDR 600 certified so it supports HDR10. Why does the Xbox allow me to check the box
to enable HDR but will not output games or videos in HDR?

Edit: I'd like to add that I plugged in my PS4 Pro and it boots up HDR 1080p with no issues at all.

    :)

Freesync HDR Monitor can't get HDR to enable

Tried a different cable which I know was working with HDR when connected to the XBox and an LG HDR TV. Same result. Tried different ports on the Monitor and also same result, still doesn't work.

It's possible that it's the HDMI cable. Some of them are not a compatible version to allow you to stream HDR. I'd start with checking that the cable you're using is compatible. In addition to that, check the ports your connected to on the TV, see if
you get different results with a different port.

Freesync HDR Monitor can't get HDR to enable

    Hi Yantelope,

Thanks for the update. You can try the
troubleshooting 4K and HDR with Xbox one
. But in this case, we recommend to get with the manufacturer HP to see if they can offer any assistance as it is their monitor.

    Thanks,

    Brad

LG C1 and series X clarity settings grayed out.

It's like I said, there are settings that disable others. For example, if I enable HDR on my monitor I can't adjust another image presets on my monitor. If I enable freesync other things are disabled and so on. Maybe game mode disables other things in favor of lower latency for games.

    Gaming monitor Xbox one X

If you can live without HDR, LG make pretty decent 4K monitors with HDMI 2.0 and Freesync support.

You wont see worthwhile HDR PC LCD monitors until well into 2018, real HDR in LCD is expensive.
