    How do you enable FreeSync?

    I have a FreeSync capable monitor and a high speed HDMI cable connected. In the monitor options, FreeSync is grayed out like it is not active. Does something need to be enabled on the X1X? Thanks.

    Did anybody else notice the bit about AMD Freesync on Xbox 1 X

    Title says it all, The console has freesync. They don't sell tv's with this feature, so buy a PC monitor or lose a feature? I personally play on monitor of the low latency and superior color gamut. So I will be buying a new 4k monitor to replace my current
    1080p. In doing my research on the best one for the new X1X I came across the freesync feature. That is where my brain power ended. in order to use this feature do I need a monitor that has it enabled? Does the console have the feature so the monitor doesn't
    need it? Aren't console games FPS locked? Ill be a day one adopter of the X1X just like I was for the X1,X360 and OG Xbox. So I want a monitor sitting on my desk waiting for all that glory to get plugged into it. Can anyone break down how/if freesync will
    be noticeable?

    It supports 1440p @144hz over DP 1.2 from my pc, and I've gotten 1440p @ ~100hz over HDMI without FreeSync enabled on my X1X.

    How are you connecting to your monitor? Are you passing your HDMI through any adapter or receiver before it hits the monitor? Can you let us know what make / model monitor you have? It looks like the monitor has to be Freesync 2 with HDMI 2.1. If you're
    passing your HDMI through any device like a receiver, switch, or converter, I would recommend trying with the Xbox One X plugged directly into the monitor.

    Thank you for replying. My monitor is an Asus VP28UQG. The X1X is connected directly to the monitor via high speed HDMI cable.
    I also have an Asus VP28UQG monitor directly connected and High Speed HDMI, and Freesync is greyed out. Would love to know if it’s Microsoft or Asus that needs to sort it. Asus customer service told me that the Xbox One X didnt support Freesync! So I corrected
    them, referred them to the Microsoft site, and await a further response!

    Yes, all Xbox One models will be getting Freesync support. At the time of this posting, Freesync is available in ALL preview rings right now, so if you're in the Insider Program and you have a Freesync-supported display, this should be worth checking out
    and testing.

    One thing to note is there is a slight difference with the Freesync support on the different console models though:

    • The Xbox One S/X will get Freesync 2 support (with HDR).
    • The original Xbox One will get Freesync support (the first version of Freesync).
