    FreeSync 120hz

I have a Samsung q8fn that supports 1440p and 120hz. It also has FreeSync 2. Is there anyway to get 1440p 120hz with FreeSync. Right now all I can get to work is FreeSync at 60hz and I’m not sure if at 60hz I’m getting lfc from FreeSync which has
a range of 120hz at maximum and under 20hz for minimum

    :)

    Freesync 120hz

I have a samsung q8fn which supports freesync and 120hz at 1080p and 1440p but i am unable to get freesync to work when selecting 120hz. It lets me choose both options on the xbox but when I check the tv it doesn't show freesync working. It only displays
freesync on the tv if i set the xbox to 60hz. Does anyone have both freesync and 120hz working with any of the samsung q series tv's?

120hz and AMD FreeSync (Variable Refresh Rate)

Hello!! I come to get help because I can not activate the 120hz and AMD FreeSync at the same time ...

    I have a monitor Iiyama GB2560HSU, AMD FreeSync, 144hz, 1080p.

    - When I put the display on HDMI, I can switch to 120hz, but I can not activate AMD FreeSync (Variable refresh rate)

    - When I put the display on DVI, I can not switch to 120hz and I can not activate AMD FreeSync.

    - When I put the display on automatic, I can not switch to 120hz, but I can activate AMD FreeSync !!

How does this do ?? I see that others have managed to activate the 2!

    Thank you for your answers!!

    FreeSync 120hz

Currently Samsung Q8FN (and Q7F, Q9F) TVs only support 120Hz Freesync at 1080P. For more info, see the news article here.

There are some very detailed in depth 3rd party testing results of this TV series here.

Scroll down about half way to see the Variable Refresh Rates section.

Bottom line 1080p will get you 120Hz Freesync, 1440p or 4K will only get 60Hz Freesync.

Will I be able to play on my Series X at 1080p 120fps VRR with this monitor?

that monitor supports 120hz and freesync, you don't need hdmi 2.1 for 1080p and 120hz with freesync at all.

you need hdmi 2.1 for 4k at 120hz with vrr.

I have that screen and its fine for most gaming uses.

that screen has console mode for 120hz, and works fine.

    1440 @120hz or 4K HDR @60hz

if you are experiencing reduced framerates ingame which is common in fps games then freesync would be recommended I would utilise freesync with your 120hz connection as it will further level the playing field in instances of variable framerates.
when i turn on freesync it automaticlly drops the hz down to 60, now way to have freesync on and 120hz

    Xbox one s 1440p 120hz problems

    Hi,

This monitor only supports 100Hz over HDMI with FreeSync turned ON (higher via Display Port).

With FreeSync OFF this monitor does support 1440p @ 120Hz as per the Manual and LG support.

    Source: https://www.amd.com/en/products/freesync-monitors

This makes means that with FreeSync ON you will be limited to 60Hz with xbox. Can you try turning off FreeSync via the Monitor and/or untick Variable Refresh Rate on the xbox. Hopefully this makes 120Hz available to you.
I have tried turning freesync off on the monitor side and vrr off on the xbox, still doesn’t allow me to select 1440p@ 120hz.

    Freesync and 120hz

    Hello vJesus

All these settings are on the monitor correct. I think It is due to the xbox console itself it isn't like a PC and can't be configured for higher. The Xbox console allows up to 120hz that is why you are running into this issue when changing settings on the
monitor itself. Even on console 4k will only run at 60hz max.

Depending who maker of the monitor one I found is Dell you can
    contact them
and see if they have any suggestions.

    hope this helps

    Thanks
