    Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone knows if there’s a date for the next time Microsoft frees up old gamer tags?

    Reserving Gamertags?

    When you change your gamertag it gets freed up in the system for anyone to use. It may not be instant, but it does get freed up.

    Freed gamer tags?

    There will no longer be any mass releases. If a person doesn't sign into their account for 5 years, the tag will be released.

    About old gamertags.

    Gamer tags cannot be “freed up”. Ga,we tags are tied to Microsoft accounts which are likely in use for other things

    All new tags, and tags new to you, will have numbers.

    If the gamer tag is in use, you cannot request it be freed up. People have microsoft accounts they use for many things, and all MS accounts have tags attached.

    Gamer Tags aren't always visible when you search for them for various reasons. Also, when you change a Gamer Tag it's not automatically freed up. The suffix on your chosen Gamer Tag indicates that it is being used some where already. You can learn more about
