Free with Xbox Live Gold not free?

I was attempting to download the game Thief, which is free with Xbox Live Gold today [June 15]. However, whenever I click the icon on my 360 it says that the game is not free but will cost 29.99. Has anyone had this problem, or does anyone know why this
is happening? If so to either of those questions would you please elaborate.

in order to download Games with Gold for free, you will need a paid Xbox Live Gold subscription, any free trials will not count as Gold to allow purchasing those Games with Gold games for free

Xbox Live is free.

You can make a Gold account, or a Silver account.

The Gold account gives you access to access to play online, along with free monthly games and weekly deals. This has a fee.

The Silver account gives you access to Xbox Live and apps, but you just can't play online or get the free games. This is free.

 

It starts on the 16th. The page was updated early. Because it's Microsoft and the guy doing it clearly doesn't care

I went to get the game Just Cause 2 was free but the price was deducted from my card even with Gold.

well i went to get the game and it said 29.99$ before i noticed i hit A by mistake but it didn't charge my card so.....i guess its free now?

 

Paulo your account isnt gold which is needed for games with gold games

Trial cards do not make you gold

You need a paid membership to download games for gold

 

On Thief, I am a current gold member and have downloaded thsi game 3 times now, it will not play past prologue for me. During the load screen transitioning from the prologue to the actual game it freezes and pops up " Disc Error, this disc is unreadable."
no error code no nothing. I have contacted support was with them for a hour and still no avail. I am currently re downloading the game in hopes that i *** something up the last 3 times.

 

Ok first delete the file

Clear system cache 3 x then power cycle then login then redownload

However here is am important question before you do this

Does yoir account region reflecr your actual region?

If not that would be why

 

What's with the x3 cache clear? Because it doesn't do it the first time? The same command is ran, where did this x3 times come from?
