Free with gold- FOR HONOR

I downloaded the game when it was available on free with gold. It was the first install on brand new xbox one s (so very new to game machine, a newb I suppose) anyway it took 4 days to download as my internet is only at 2mbps. My problem is it's not getting
past the first picture screen then exits out with a code - 0x8027025a saying "Try again For Honor has taken to long to start". I have played many online games with no lag etc as long as the xbox is the only user so it shouldn't be a problem. Please help thankyou.

Just so I am understanding you correctly

1. You both had Gold at one time.

2. You set your brothers console as your profiles home console.

3. You set your console as your brothers home console

4. You got For Honor when it was free with gold.

5. You cancelled Gold but your brother kept gold.

6. Now neither one of you can play For Honor.

7, You can still play some of the games that you got with the games with gold. just not For Honor.

So if all of this is correct I would have to guess that when For Honor was available for free with gold Your Brother did not get it and you did.

IN order to PLAY Xbox ONE games that you get free with gold you must maintain an active Gold subscription.

Even though your brother Has a gold subscription the only reason that he would not be able to play it is if he did not get the game when it was free with gold. That would be the ONLY reason that you would be getting that error message.

 

For Honor isnt free with Gold?

there is currently an xbox service alert so that's what may be causing the issue, you should try again later and see if it changed.

IF THE CONSOLE IS CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET no progress or purchase data will be lost, what we accomplish by doing these steps would be to resync the profile to the cloud getting rid of any corruption as a byproduct.

 

Found this suggestion online and tried it but it made no difference. when I just tried to load game again it said I had another update of 25gb and I haven't been able to play the game at all. So i will be back in a few days if this doesn't help. Thankyou

I sincerely hope my fellow gamers advice has helped but if not I hope this posts helps you out.

I've had same issue only to discover that the error only occurs when I'm running updates or downloading a game or app, I suspect the 2mbps line not helping the issue but even with my 10mbps line it still struggles to cope with download and online play simultaneously.
so pause all updates and games while you play and then just unpause when you done and switching off for the day, the updates/ installation will run its course and hopefully be done next time you sign on.
