    FREE TO PLAY REQUIRES XBOX LIVE??


    Why does the Free-To-Play require Xbox Live? Now, it's no longer free-to-play, but requires you to PAY for Xbox Live just to play a "free" game. Can we please change this requirement, and change it to where it's only paid games that need Xbox Live Gold?

    Pretty sure it is free and doesn't require Xbox Live Gold to play it online.

    You need Xbox Live Gold to play online. The majority of free-to-play games use online functionality.

    It's just not worth playing for Xbox Live just to play a Free To Play game. If they don't agree with this, then they might as well make the Free to play available only to Xbox Live Gold members only. Congratulations to Play Station for not being so greedy
    and just let people enjoy gaming.

    It is a free to play game as set by the publisher that is offering it on Xbox Live Gold, yes these are offered through a paid service just as you have to pay your ISP to be able to access Xbox Live Gold.

    Fortnite is a free-to-play game which means it does not require an Xbox Live Gold subscription.

    Xbox Live Gold subscription is not just required for free-to-play games such as Fortnite, Apex Legends, Warzone 2.0 etc.

    No. They are not making Xbox Live Gold free. They are only make games that are "free to play" such as fortnite for example, not require you to have gold to play online.

    Other games that are not "free to play" will still require a paid Xbox Live Gold subscription in order to play them online.

    There is no date announced yet for when free to play games could be played online without gold.
