Free stuff advertised on my home screen/dashboard not really free???

Hey gang, so I dont have cable, but I have internet and xbox live, and I was so excited to see the Bieber roast Advertised for free on my xbox one homescreen/dashboard, says "bieber roast Watch it here for free", and I click on it and when the next screen
pops up there is a lock symbol on it, and its wanting me to pay for the comedy central app, or log in with a cable provider, what the heck is that? why advertise something on the homescreen/dashboard as free, just to charge you when you click on it? this makes
no sense to me.

Xbox live rewards

I signed up for Xbox Rewards on the dashboard, 1-2 years ago (when it was advertised on the home screen). I just went to check on my rewards the other day, and it said I wasn't a member. Is there anything I can do about the rewards I'm missing, or even my
VIP level? Thanks in advance, Dylan.

It's probably free with the comedy center app which you have to pay for, it's like the free games you get when you have an active gold membership

It's the same with HBO GO, and I think SyFy. In order to watch such programming you still need to be a subscriber to HBO or SyFy from your cable or satellite provider. Same with Comedy Central.

I mean within the dashboard of the product. When i fire up the PlayStation or Oculus Quest, their dashboards are free of advertising. Xbox dashboard has advertisement on the launch screen .

They don't affect the functionality of the console, I don't even notice them.

Don't forget the money for interactive marketting, cause they don't make enough off of user fee's and the amount of advertising they put in the dashboard (Adboard maybe?) already!
