Playstation 3 USED to be free. Now Sony is charging. Never really stuck with Nintendo so i couldnt tell you abt them. However the money goes towards keeping the system up to date as well as the servers.

I think this might be a case of participial factual information. Fortnite is free to play on PS4 and this upsets a lot of people. That's a deal that Playstation came to with Fornite but not a deal that is on offer with Xbox. However all other online
games have a paid for subscription on PS just the same as Xbox.

I'm on paying for the service. The cost to maintain the service had to come from somewhere.

We, console gamers, should have fought hard against paying when they first introduced it. Remember when they tried to charge PC users to pay to play and they got laughed out of the building? We should have done the same. It's not fair at all that we could
be playing against people on a PC from an MS published game but we need to pay and not them.

I feel they need to step up what they offer for having a gold sub.

This whole ridiculous paying to play online could have been avoided.
