Free name change

Hello I've been gone for my birthday and when I came back my gamertag wass change and my cousin change it. I tried to ask customer services but they told me that you guys might help me? I just want to change my name please help.

If you created the account on the console - you do not get a free name change.

If you created it on the website - or were assigned a GT from an exiting Live account, you would get a free name change.

If you created the account when you were able to select a GT at sign up you are also Unable to change your name for free one time.

the free name change for system created tags are only good for the first 30 days and only when created on the console.

 

If you're not signed up already, you would want to sign up for the Rewards program at http;//rewards.xbox.com to start earning credits. Once the credits are deposited into your account as currency, you should be able to use that to change your gamertag.
Otherwise, there is no way to receive a free change unless you make your cousin pay for it.

We do not give out gamertag changes. As Smwutches says, you would have to spend your Rewards Deposits for that. You can view your deposits and current Microsoft Account currency from the commerce page at (Sign in to your Microsoft account).
