    Free name change not working


    I recently got a message from Xbox live saying "looks like you've changed your gamer tag multiple times recently. With the latest console update this may have caused a changed to how you appear on Xbox" and it says I can change it for free and I won't be charged but when I go to change it, it makes me pay for it. If you need my gt it is Lil ScxrFxce but it should be ANDO lll. Pls help

    No it doesn't cost them really anything to do placebo, but without that cost for 1 it gives people more ways to be annoying on live and get away with it. This is the same as with most mmo's for example that offer a name change

    If you created the account on the console - you do not get a free name change.

    If you created it on the website - or were assigned a GT from an exiting Live account, you would get a free name change.

    If you created the account when you were able to select a GT at sign up you are also Unable to change your name for free one time.

    the free name change for system created tags are only good for the first 30 days and only when created on the console.

    It's greed pure and simple, most people would need to only change the name of their gamertag once or twice so the first two or three should be free, hardly annoying if someone on your Live changes their name two or three times...
