Free Limbo code for Xbox early adopters

Hi there, just wondering if you could help. I bought a Day One console but when I hooked it up on launch day, the console wouldn't power up. I immediately contacted Xbox Support who arranged a replacement. The replacement arrived a week later. One year
on, and I find that I may have missed out on being considered as an Xbox Early Adopter and receiving a free code for Limbo for Xbox One's first birthday. I have just spoken to Robert via live chat who said that it was best for me to raise this as an issue
in these forums, in hope that the Xbox Promotions team can help. I feel a bit gutted to miss out through no fault of my own. Appreciate your help, Carl

Apparently anyone who used their Xbox One during the console's launch weekend should now have a code for Limbo in their inbox, while the platformer's new Xbox One port will be made available to purchase for everyone else "soon".

"We're looking forward to launching Limbo on Xbox One," a Microsoft spokesperson said. "As a thank you to our earliest adopters, fans who played their Xbox One the first weekend of launch received early, free access to the game.

"Limbo will also be available for purchase via the Xbox Game Store soon."

Microsoft has clarified the terms of its free Limbo promotion, confirming that those "who played their Xbox One the first weekend of launch" were selected to receive "early, free access to the game".

In a statement provided to VideoGamer.com this morning, a Microsoft spokesperson said:

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I did get the email, it stated I was in the top 1% for Gamerscore and top 5% for time spent playing on Xbox Live. What I didn't get was the code for Limbo (That was sent to early adopters of the console)

I have spoken to Xbox Support who state that I had to use the console on the first weekend to qualify for the free code. I couldn't because my console didn't work out of the box. I had to wait a week for Microsoft to replace it. Because of that, I appear
not to be considered an early adopter.

 

The Limbo code was given out randomly to Xbox One Day One owners. While you may already be considered an early adopter, the game was still given out randomly among the early adopters. I'm sincerely sorry for any frustration this may have caused.
